Hairgrowth UK was founded in 2002 by Vera Peiffer, a health kinesiologist who works in private practice in Surbiton, Surrey. Vera talks about her own hair loss story:

"When I was 14 years old, I found a small round bald patch on my head which slowly became bigger. The doctors seemed helpless and prescribed steroid injections and tablets which only made the condition worse. I was devastated. I lost all confidence and felt like a freak. I could not believe what was happening to me, and nothing seemed to stop the hair from falling out. Within another two months, I had lost all the hair on my head. Within another six months, the hair on my entire body had fallen out. At school, other kids started to shun me or make hurtful remarks. My parents did not know what to say, and nobody spoke to me about how I felt. It was a living hell.

In the intervening years, I tried other treatments, none of which worked, but all of which had major negative side effects. I put on a lot of weight, developed problems with water retention and felt tired all the time, none of which had been a problem before the medical treatments started.

I spent 30 years of my life without a single hair on my head or on my body. I learnt to cope with it but was always hoping that I could find something that would work. In 1999, a health kinesiologist started treating me for my hair loss. After 16 sessions, I noticed that something was happening on my head. I looked at my scalp and found that tiny hairs had started growing. It was the happiest day of my life!"

Since then, Vera has been tirelessly researching into hair loss and has since been able to help others with their hair loss problems using health kinesiology and other natural methods. Her best-selling book Regrowing Hair Naturally contains a wealth of genuinely new research findings, with a great deal of easy-to-understand tests and advice how to reverse hair loss. Vera is running a successful private practice in Surbiton, Surrey, where she sees both men and women with hair loss problems.
